Over two thousand are being sent from Japan to engage in Operation Epic Fury.
The Pentagon is deploying the USS Tripoli, a Marine Amphibious Ready Group, and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit to support Operation Epic Fury. The group was permanently stationed in Japan with the Indo-Pacific Command and will take about two weeks to reach the Middle East.
The air and naval unit has F-35 fighter jets and a squadron of MV-22 tilt-rotor Osprey aircraft.
President Donald Trump stated on Thursday, “We are totally destroying the terrorist regime of Iran, militarily, economically, and otherwise… Iran’s Navy is gone, their Air Force is no longer, missiles, drones, and everything else are being decimated, and their leaders have been wiped from the face of the earth.”
